Frequently Asked Questions
Is therapy for me? Most people find therapy helpful in solving specific problems and alleviating feelings of distress. Studies show that about 80% of therapy clients report significant improvement within eight sessions. For some, therapy can be a transformational experience. By addressing difficult issues, many can turn their challenges into lasting change and inspiration.
What is a LCSW? A LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker. I have a master’s degree in social work (MSW) with an emphasis in mental health. I am licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and trained as a psychotherapist.
How long are sessions and often would we meet? Sessions are 50 minutes long, and we would usually meet on a weekly basis.
What is your fee? My standard fee is $150 per session. You may pay with cash, check or credit card.
Do you have a sliding scale? I reserve some hours for clients who require a sliding scale based on financial need. Please feel free to call me to discuss this possibility.
Do you take insurance? I take some insurance and Employee Assistant plans (Aetna, Holman Group, ComPsych, Medicare). If I am out-of-network for your plan, I will provide you with statement that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement per your plan's benefits. Please check with you insurance company regarding your benefits or feel free to call me for assistance with understanding your insurance plan.
